Oracle Ridge Trail

Part of the Arizona Trail, this path runs through a burn area with very little shade but lots of long-distance views. I loved the character of this burned, twisty reminder of the fire. One can see across to the Reef of Rock ridge, a spine of enduring (yet always decomposing) granite that contrasts with the naked trunks of burned trees and little patches of green that survived or are growing back. It was really hot this day, so it benefitted the sketch by making me hurry and avoid too much noodling!
